BRAND NEW IN 2022 You’re Invited to Join the Connect Beyond Club!

During our first year of book club, we spent a year of learning, sharing stories, and supporting one another. From this experience we’ve decided to expand the club to include a variety of other media including films, music, podcasts and additional resources. The 2022 theme for Connect Beyond Club will encourage conversation and exploration around personal and cultural growth. The Club will have a presence at Connect Beyond Festival 2022.

  • Each of these actions will be discussed over four meetings that will take place virtually every other week. First meeting will be February 3rd, 2022 at 7PM EST.
  • As safety permits, we will host in person meetings and continue to offer the virtual option through Zoom.
  • When available, we will engage content creators in our club discussions.

Throughout 2022, we will focus on 5 actions that help us vision and create healthy connections. To participate in these sessions, please subscribe to the CONNECT BEYOND FESTIVAL PATREON

*February 3rd session is free and open to the public.

This is an invitation to explore how curiosity fuels your imagination; to open the mind and be open to possibilities.  Curiosity is the spark behind the spark of every great idea.

Buy Book | In this deep, challenging, and thoughtful book, Propaganda looks at the ways in which our world is broken. Using the metaphor of terraforming—creating a livable world out of an inhospitable one—he shows how we can begin to reshape our homes, friendships, communities, and politics.

Listen | Dr. Benjamin Gilmer gets a job at a rural clinic. He finds out he’s replaced someone — also named Dr. Gilmer — who went to prison after killing his own father. But the more Benjamin’s patients talk about the other Dr. Gilmer, the more confused he becomes. Everyone loved the old Dr. Gilmer. So Benjamin starts digging around, trying to understand how a good man can seemingly turn bad.

Where to Watch | A 1989 American teen drama film written by Tom Schulman, directed by Peter Weir, and starring Robin Williams. Set in 1959 at the fictional elite conservative Vermont boarding school Welton Academy, it tells the story of an English teacher who inspires his students through his teaching of poetry. Available on Hulu and Amazon, Apple, and Google Video.

With inquiry, we seek to see more, feel more, and understand the formation of ideas, habits, and how systems operate.  We’ll take a deep dive into our personal history and our current reality. Without inquiry there’s no learning.

With visioning we map a clear path on how to move forward with our intentions and values. We paint a picture of what life is like when we follow through on our intentions and embrace our core values.

During engagement we put what we’ve learned into practice and align our steps forward with our core values. We cultivate tools to build resilience and sustain our activity. With engagement we deeply connect to ourselves and to our communities.
