In 2011, Crissa Requate founded Mason Jar Media, a boutique marketing agency specializing in publicity and radio promotion campaigns for festivals, musicians, and brands. Nestled in the idyllic, arts-centric town of Asheville, NC, Mason Jar Media goes beyond traditional pitching and standard timelines to achieve results. Reflecting Crissa’s passion for music and determination to see her clients flourish, Mason Jar campaigns combine creativity with strategy and persistence to help festivals and bands receive national recognition.
The agency’s current and previous clients include KAABOO branded festivals, Bonnaroo, Shaky Knees, Forecastle, Hangout, Okeechobee Music Festival, Luke Bryan’s Crash My Playa, Explore Asheville (the Convention and Visitors Bureau for Asheville, NC), Slightly Stoopid, G. Love and Special Sauce, and more. Several of these event clients have been nominated for “Festival of the Year” accolades while working with Crissa.
Crissa graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston and held various music industry positions in NYC before moving to Western North Carolina in 2007. When she isn’t running photo pits or crafting pitches for her clients, she might be playing dress-up with her two young daughters or enjoying a craft beer from a local brewery – sometimes simultaneously.
